Showers & rain east

Best in west

/reports/2024/05/29/foc_0.gif Thursday
Plenty of cloud to start Thursday morning across many central, southern and eastern parts of England. There will be some showery spots of rain as well and a strong north-westerly breeze, particularly affecting north-east England. Dry and brighter for Northwest England, Scotland, Ireland, much of Wales and Southwest England, just an odd shower on hills here. This afternoon sees the showers becoming heavier and perhaps merging to long spells of rain in central and eastern areas of England. Always drier towards the western North, although again a few showers over the hills of Scotland. Feeling cool in the fresh to strong Northwest breeze. Highs at 14 to 17C.

/reports/2024/05/29/foc_1.gif Thursday Night
Rain and showers at first this evening over East Anglia and southeast England, but these tending to clear south quickly. A few showers in central and northern areas of England also clearing quickly. The night is then mostly dry with clear spells developing. A risk of rain returning to the coasts of East Anglia by morning. Lows at 9 to 11C.

/reports/2024/05/29/foc_2.gif Friday
High pressure west of Ireland on Friday/ A northerly wind affecting most of the British Isles bringing broken cloud and some sunny spells. The best sunshine in the west. Most places are dry although a localised shower may affect western coasts and hills. More cloud and some outbreaks of rain could trouble eastern coasts of East Anglia and Kent. Tops of a cold 14C in East Anglia, 17 to 19C elsewhere but feeling cold in the breeze for all.

/reports/2024/05/29/foc_3.gif Saturday
The ridge of high pressure remains on Saturday. This should bring a bright day with sunny spells and it should be dry too. There is a risk of some thicker cloud in eastern parts, and a low chance of a shower close to the coasts. Some cloud too in northwest Scotland. Highs at 14C in northern Scotland, 18 to 20C elsewhere.
